Robert Wegner

Robert Wegner has a bachelor’s degree (1990) in Social Sciences from the Universidade Federal do Paraná and a master’s (1994) and PhD (1999) in Sociology from the Instituto Universitário de Pesquisas do Rio de Janeiro (IUPERJ). He is a researcher with the Casa de Oswaldo Cruz Research Department and has been a professor with PPGHCS since its creation in 2001. He headed the Casa de Oswaldo Cruz Research Department from 2005 to 2009 and has been PPGHCS Program Chair since 2015. He also teaches undergraduate classes at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica of Rio de Janeiro, through the departments of Social Sciences and History. His research interests include intellectual history, historiography, and social theory, especially research on modernism, eugenics, and social thought in Brazil.
